Simon and Liz are awesome. Yes, we trekked all over Schooley’s Mountain Park. And yes, Liz climbed the mountain in boot heels.
When Chris and Hannah first contacted me about their wedding and told me about their plans I was very excited. Hannah was a bridesmaid in one of my very first weddings, and the wedding ceremony was being held in an outdoor chapel in the middle of the woods at Schooley’s Mountain Park in New Jersey at the peak of fall! I’ve gone hiking at Schooley’s Mountain multiple times a year for the past few years, and I love the scenery, the waterfalls, the overlooks, and the amazing colors in the fall. On the day of the wedding it was raining on and off, but we planned ahead – Hannah brought the sweet yellow rain boots and I brought the colorful umbrella! It rained for several days beforehand so the fall colors were EXPLODING, green, yellow, orange, red, you name it. Despite the rain we were SO excited, and I figured the boots and umbrella would make for some cool photos that really fit Chris and Hannah’s personalities. We absolutely LOVE when we get time for relaxed portraits before the ceremony and all the craziness of the wedding day begins, and I got a solid hour with Chris and Hannah before any of the guests arrived and the ceremony began. We walked around Schooley’s Mountain and got some fantastic photos, braving the cold and rain was completely worth it! As you can imagine, everyone involved was praying like crazy that it would stop raining, and just a few minutes before the ceremony in the woods began the rain completely stopped and the sun came out! The ceremony was beautiful, and not just because of the sunshine and the color of the leaves! I LOVE these next two photos, especially the one on the right, they make me think of photos in a J.Crew catalogue! (I love J.Crew!) Schooley’s Mountain Park was one of my absolutely favorite places to shoot a wedding this past year, We’d love to shoot there again so if any brides are considering getting married there give us a shout! Here’s the address to Schooley’s Mountain for anyone who might want to check it out as a potential wedding venue or just for a nice hike! 27-33 Camp Washington Rd Long Valley, NJ 07853 Thanks Chris and Hannah for having me as a part of your wedding day!
