Kristen and I were old high school friends and I was thrilled when she called to tell me she wanted Taylor and I to photograph her wedding. I love love love these photos! We took them to Jockey Hollow in Morristown New Jersey for a quick portrait session before their ceremony. We always love when we have the opportunity to take the bride and groom away for portraits before the ceremony, it provides a nice quiet time where they can relax and enjoy being with each other before the whirlwind of the wedding day really starts, and of course we get some amazing photos! Stephen and Kristen were complete naturals in front of the camera. They were so beautiful together, and so obviously crazy in love! I don’t think they let go of each other once during the entire portrait session except begrudgingly when we asked them to for a photo. They told me after the wedding that their portrait time before their ceremony at Jockey Hollow was the absolute best part of the entire day! You may also recognize Stephen and Kristen from the splash page and header of this site, we just can’t get enough of them! It rained a lot the week before their wedding day so everything at Jockey Hollow was exploding in green! Taylor is the man. Anything for the shot.
This is definitely one of the raddest couples that we’ve met.
Cam is a stationary designer and owner of the fabulous Cam Turner Design. Cam and I actually met while I was a repair technician, or “Genius” at Apple. I replaced something or other on her iMac when it was in for repair and managed to get it back to her the same day she dropped it off, and when she was picking the computer up we started chatting and ended up exchanging info. Several months later I got an e-mail from her saying something along the lines of “hey you fixed my computer, I want you to shoot my wedding!” We’re were flattered to be chosen to photograph their wedding, especially considering how many great photographers Cam has probably come across in her line of work!
Patrick works for a company that fabricates and mounts giant signs on buildings, so he’s regularly hanging out five stories up on the outside of buildings. He’s a pretty hardcore guy. Everything from the glasses to that sweet belt buckle, and of course the tattoos, screams serious fun. More on that tattoos later!
Patrick and Cam are getting married at The Chelsea in Atlantic City in September. The wedding is going to have a 40′s/50′s vibe, with decorations, attire, and colors to match. I can’t tell you how excited we are to be a part of this wedding! We were in a rush to get the engagement session done because they needed a few images to put on the back of playing card favors that they’re having made for their reception, how cool is that!?? I can’t wait to see how they turn out!
We did their engagement session in downtown Morristown New Jersey, check it out!
For those of you who saw this photo a few days ago when I tweeted it and were very confused as to what was going on, here it is again in a little more context!
This tattoo is actually how Patrick proposed to Cam. He had the tattoo done first thing in the morning and then proposed by showing it to her later that night. If I remember correctly what they told me, the first thing she said was, “When did you do that??” So you see what I mean about Patrick being hardcore!
Ahem, more hardcore.
It was a fantastic session, we’re really happy with the results and with the character that you two brought to the shoot! We’re so excited for your wedding at The Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City next month, you guys are awesome!!!
