Cloisters in New York City | Mary Anne and Rich Got Engaged!

Written by Taylor on December 15

It was Mary Anne and Rich’s idea to come to the Cloisters in New York City for their engagement shoot. Darren and I like to scout if we’re going to a new location and when we looked around the grounds outside this castle-like museum, we knew it was going to be an awesome engagement session. I think I might have come here for a school field trip once. I seem to remember tapestries.

The weather held up beautifully, and we had a fantastic time. In the course of the shoot, we witnessed a Shakespearean play on the grounds, an attempted mugging (not really but I swear he was eyeing my telephoto lens), and a rare moment of poetic poignancy, when a butterfly landed on Rich’s head, which I believe is seen in some cultures as a sign of beauty.

Rich and Mary Anne, thanks for an awesome awesome time! We wish you God’s best in your new lives together!!
